Dr. Ronald Lev is Certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM), formally known as the American Board of Phlebology. ABVLM (formally ABPh) has awarded diplomate status to Dr.Lev, as part of the third class of diplomates.
His certification with the ABVLM is a direct reflection of his skill, knowledge, and experience in providing quality patient care, and his continued commitment to the advancement of vein care. To become certified by the ABVLM (American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine) is truly an accomplishment.
Less than 1% of all Phlebology professionals in the U.S. and Canada have earned certification from the ABVLM. To become an ABVLM diplomate, an applicant must complete the requisite training and experience qualifications, meet the continuing medical education requisites, and pass a stringent certification examination. Certification periods are ten years and maintenance is dependent on the ability of the diplomate to display competency in four areas of assessment: evidence of professional standing, evidence of commitment to lifelong-learning and periodic self-assessment, evidence of cognitive expertise, and evaluation of performance in practice.
Dr. Lev obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1991, following which Lev received his Master’s in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania> in 1993 and a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1996. Dr. Lev was an intern and held his residency at the University of Washington Hospital from 1996 to 2002. Dr. Ronald Lev is the founder of Advanced Varicose Vein Treatments of Manhattan.
The American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 2007 for the purpose of certifying physicians who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of phlebology. 3. Examine physician candidates for certification and maintenance of certification in the practice of phlebology.
4. Establish educational standards for teaching and training programs in phlebology.
