Our highly trained staff is led by Kelly O’Donnell, M.D., a board certified vein specialist with an extensive medical background whose focus is on providing pain-free solutions and ensuring the comfort of her patients.

Dr. O’Donnell earned her undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of California, Los Angeles and pursued extended molecular genetics research at the University of California, Los Angeles and University of California, Berkeley before returning to Maryland to attain her medical degree. Dr. O’Donnell graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1990, completed her internship in general surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, and her residency training was in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her career for the next decade was in cardiovascular and critical care anesthesia at Prince George’s Hospital Center and Washington Hospital Center.

In 2008, Dr. O’Donnell shifted her focus to practicing as a full-time vein care specialist. In 2009, she received her Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification followed by her Registered Physician of Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) certification and then completed her board certification in phlebology from the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Less than 1% of physicians in the U.S. practicing phlebology have earned this distinction. She has performed thousands of venous ablation procedures for venous insufficiency and has specific interest in the treatment of spider veins with laser treatment and sclerotherapy.
