About Selphyl or “Vampire” Injectable Facial Filler
Despite it’s scary sounding name, The Vampire Facelift is actually one of the less invasive treatments available. It’s based on a new anti-aging treatment which uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to rejuvenate the appearance of the face. PRP is made by drawing the patient’s own blood and spinning it in a centrifuge, which seperates the special plasma. This is then re-injected into the patients face to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
There is another technique that is very similar, called Selphyl, which is also a PRP based facelift. The ‘Vampire Facelift’ is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ procedure. Depending on your physiology and health history, your surgeon will create a specially tailored treatment plan for you. This may sometimes include additional treatments so as to achieve the most desirable results.
How is it performed?
The Vampire Facelift is a very quick procedure. Most patients find it can be completed in their lunch hour. As the Vampire Facelift has almost no side effects whatsoever, it is suitable for the treatment of wrinkles and fine lines almost anywhere on the face. There are no contraindications for a vampire facelift, and it is suitable for either men or women. Results are reported to last between a year and eighteen months.
