Are you interested in liposuction, but don’t like the idea of a long downtime? A minimally invasive alternative may be the right option for you. CoolSculpting and laser liposuction are both excellent alternatives to liposuction. CoolSculpting and laser lipo both reduce unwanted fat and inches but how do they compare?
CoolSculpting is a completely non-surgical procedure.
As a result, there is no anaesthesia, no incisions, no scalpel and best of all, no scars. Laser lipo is a surgical procedure that uses laser technology. It can be performed under local anaesthesia, and incisions have to made in order to insert the cannula through which the fat is suctioned.
Laser Lipo also tightens the skin.
Laser energy helps to stimulate collagen, and this has the effect of tightening the skin in the long term. Collagen is an important ingredient in the skin’s architecture, helping to keep it firm. Additional collagen will result in tighter skin and tissue in the following months. CoolSculpting, however, is not able to tighten the skin.
There is no downtime with CoolSculpting.
Since CoolSculpting is non-invasive, there is zero downtime. Patients can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Downtime after laser lipo averages 2-3 days, and patients have to wear a compression garment to limit swelling.
Results are more dramatic with laser lipo.
With laser lipo, it is possible to remove more fat, up to 70-90%, compared to 20-25% with CoolSculpting.
Only one treatment is required with laser lipo.
It usually only takes a single treatment with laser lipo to achieve the desired results, but you may need more than one treatment with CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting is a shorter procedure.
Only taking one hour to perform, CoolSculpting is a fast procedure. Laser lipo usually takes longer than one hour.
CoolSculpting is ideal for targeting small localised fat deposits. Thus, it is ideal for individuals that are relatively healthy and lead an active lifestyle. Laser lipo removes much more fat and is better suited for individuals with larger pockets of fat.
