  • It should take about 6 weeks to reach the 90% point of healing after breast augmentation.  I am sure you will love your “mommy makeover”.  You may also benefit from having lift to correct sagging breasts.  Nothing beats a one-on-one consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.  I encourage you to meet with 2 or 3 different surgeons to experience the difference.  Cost by a real qualified board certified plastic surgeon ranges from $6900 to $9900 (saline versus gel versus shaped gel) and more if you need or choose to have a breast lift.Best luck for a great result to regain your pre-pregnancy body!

  • Dear MelissaFinn,

A breast augmentation following children and post mammary and post breastfeeding of breast gland involution can be a very satisfying aesthetic procedure.  The selection of the proper implant size and shape, the pocket above the muscle called subglandular under the muscle called dual plane or submuscular, as well as the incision approach would be decided at the time of your consultation with your selected certified plastic surgeon.  Depending on the decision for pocket placement either subglandular or under the muscle will affect some recovery time.  Generally, submuscular implants are preferred in thin patients within chest walls and visible ribs and gives the best cosmetic contouring takeoff from the chest wall.  Under the muscle implant placement can be
quite painful for the first 2-4 days and most patients can be back at jobs that don’t require a high level of activity and are more sedentary in nature within 7 days.

High impact activities such as jogging, weight training or yoga can usually be resumed by one month.  Low impact activities such as a stairclimber or elliptical walking can be initiated after the first week.

It generally takes several weeks for the implants to settle in the pocket for the soft tissue to adapt and generally most breast augmentations can look quite pleasing in a bikini or more revealing clothing within 4-6 weeks.

Modern breast practices will often offer something called a Vectra 3D which is a 3D imaging device that will allow you to see the simulated shape of your new breast and figure before you decide to have surgery a “try before you buy” approach that allows many patients to make the right breast augment size and shape decisions and the fear of being either too big or too small can essentially be virtually eliminated.

At this point in time seeking the advice and consultation of 2-3 certified plastic surgeons to seek out the best plastic surgery practice for you would be the next step and ensuring that you get 3D Vectra imaging to find the best possible implant for the aesthetic outcomes that you seek.

The cost of most breast augment procedures for saline implants in Toronto would range between $5,000.00 and $7,000.00 and cohesive gel implant procedures, because the implants themselves are more expensive would cost between $8,000.00 and $10,000.00.  The advantage of the cohesive gel implant is you get a lifetime warranty from the company if the device were to fail whereas a saline implant generally have a higher risk of replacement within the first 10 years and only have a 10 year warranty.  Saline implants tend to have more problematic aesthetic outcomes with visible ripples and don’t feel quite as natural as the new cohesive gel gummy bear implants.

I’m sure you’ll get a nice aesthetic enhancement.

I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck.

  • Transcribed from video attached:The cost of breast augmentation ranges. It goes from about $6,000 to anywhere up to $12,000. The fee really depends on what is being done, the type of implant being used and what other procedures are being done in addition to implants. People can have a simple breast augmentation, such as a simple saline implant augmentation or they can have something more complex such as breast augmentation with a breast lift, correction of asymmetry, or whatever the problem is.
