Question posted by kathleen carroll from croydon, surreu CR0 7PW

I would like liposuction on my abdomen and stomach and some of the fat transferred to my face.

Would this be possible? and if so, what cost would I be looking at.

I go to the gym regularly but have stubborn fat which I cannot remove.  My son is getting married next year and I would like this done before then.  I have lost a bit of weight in my face and feel very drawn.

If you could kindly recommend a reputable cosmetic surgeon.

thank you

Kathy Carroll

  • Dear Kathleen Carroll, Thank you for your clinical post and this is a very common question.  That is to perform liposuction on areas where you have excess amounts of fat that are present despite diet and exercise and then using this fat to inject or transplant to areas where you may lack volume and shape.  I have been performing liposuction for over 20 years in addition to fat grafting.  The art of liposuction has become much more refined over the last 7 or 8 years with the addition of procedures such as SmartLipo, BodyTite and Vaser Lipo.  These technologies apply energy to the fat prior to removing, liquefying it, coagulating the fat for gentle aspiration.  These technologies minimize the risk of bruising, swelling and reduce pain.  In addition, especially with Vaser Lipo the fat graft cells are viable for transplantation.  I very commonly perform harvest of fat grafts for injection into the buttock, breast and face.  Following the harvest of the fat grafts liposuction with SmartLipo or BodyTite is performed to achieve the best possible contours.  Skin contraction of over 30% can now be achieved following liposuction and lead to excellent results. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck and I hope the wedding is fantastic.
