I am considering liposuction, but am frightened by what I read. I am not that overweight, but have stubborn tummy and hip fat. Do things go wrong often?

  • Good Afternoon Fiona, Thank you for your question.  It is normal to have concerns and reservations about any surgery, especially one that you are choosing to do; and although there are risks, they are very low and even less if you live a healthy lifestyle, do not smoke and are within a normal BMI.  Stubborn areas of fat that don’t decrease in spite of healthy diet and exercise can respond well to both surgical and non-surgical options.  You’re best to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can assess you and advise what treatment path would meet your aesthetic goals.Best of Luck, Dr. K.
