I am considering liposuction, but am frightened by what I read. I am not that overweight, but have stubborn tummy and hip fat. Do things go wrong often?

Good Afternoon Fiona, Thank you for your question. It is normal to have concerns and reservations about any surgery, especially one that you are choosing to do; and although there are risks, they are very low and even less if you live a healthy lifestyle, do not smoke and are within a normal BMI. Stubborn areas of fat that don’t decrease in spite of healthy diet and exercise can respond well to both surgical and non-surgical options. You’re best to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can assess you and advise what treatment path would meet your aesthetic goals.Best of Luck, Dr. K.
