I am considering a Brazilian butt lift but I am worried about recovery time because I am not able to take much time off work. What is the average length of recovery before I can return to work and what will recovery look like?

Dear Maya, A Brazilian butt lift is the removal of fat from one area of the body where you don’t want it and the transplantation transferred to the buttock to give it a rounder, lifted appearance. The downtime following a fat transfer to the buttock is dependent upon the areas where the fat was harvested and how many of them were there. There is the buttock that were injected and the kind of job that you have. Generally, with modern techniques such as VaserLipo and BodyTite, the harvested multiple zones of fat that can then be purified into fat grafts inserted in the buttock can be performed under local anesthesia with relatively little post-operative discomfort. Most patients can perform this kind of procedure under local anesthesia or IV sedation on a Thursday and return to work on a Monday. Even active jobs, the buttock and the liposuction harvest zones will only be moderately bruised and sore. You need to avoid pressure on the buttock so you sit forward on the little bones at the top of your thigh bone called the ischial tuberosities to avoid the fat transplant areas.
The more time you can take off work generally the easier post-operative course. However, many patients need to return to work sooner than they would like and this can be facilitated.
